The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) is a voluntary humanitarian organization to protect human life and health based in India. It is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and so shares the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The society's mission is providing relief in times of disasters/emergencies and promoting health & care of vulnerable people and communities. Youth represent a substantial part of the membership of Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. The Youth Red Cross of Om Muruga College of Arts and Science College has worked over the course of academic year to bring not just a host of programmes for the students, but also ensuring that the programmes are an experience worth learning from for all the students. Through Youth Red Cross our students has donated blood to various Government hospitals in and around mettur and involve themselves in various social welfare measures.
